This is our own recipe of Dave’s dad’s American style mild Coney Island chili. Slow cooked along with 27% minced beef, kidney beans, peppers, tomatoes, onions, chili powder, garlic, and other spices, Dave recreates the famous Coney Island chili which made the hot dogs with chili sauce on top famous – The Detroit Coney Island Dogs. Served either on a hot dog or in a bowl with generous heaps of sour cream and grated cheese on top, you’ve got a good old fashioned staple to the America diet. If you like your chili super spicy and “Texas hot” then Dave will hand you the chili powder shaker and jalapenos then you can have at it. But it’s this milder authentic Coney Island chili that does it for us.
